    • Members include more than 50 nationally recognized industry thought leaders
    • A destination for sophisticated discussions of investment and financial planning strategies

BOSTON, MA — May 15, 2015. Advisor Perspectives is pleased to announce that APViewpoint has achieved an important milestone of enrolling its 5,000th member in its first year of operation. APViewpoint is a free online community for financial advisors and financial planners.

Since its launch in May of 2014, APViewpoint has grown to become the destination for highly sophisticated discussions of key topics of importance to advisors, such as the debate over the merits of active vs. passive investment management, retirement income planning challenges and sophisticated analysis of mutual funds and ETFs. Many of these discussions are follow-ups to articles that appeared on the Advisor Perspectives web site and weekly newsletter.

More than 2,000 advisors visit APViewpoint each week, drawn by the opportunity to share and gain insights from their peers. Members also benefit from the presence and participation of more than 50 nationally recognized industry thought leaders, including Bob Veres, Wade Pfau, Harold Evensky, Michael Kitces, Larry Swedroe, Sue Stevens, Michael Edesess, Dan Solin, Doug Short and Deborah Fox.

“Our mission is to create a community of advisors where shared knowledge is used to improve investor outcomes,” Bob Huebscher, president of Advisor Perspectives said. “This milestone demonstrates that advisors and their clients will be able to benefit from the ‘wisdom of the crowds’ - in our case, a 5,000-member and rapidly growing crowd.”

A key benefit for members is access to exclusive webinars presented by some of the most respected investment experts in the industry, including Veres, Pfau, Swedroe, Edesess, Jeffrey Gundlach, David Blanchett, Jim O’Shaughnessy and Richard Bernstein. More than 2,500 people have attended these webinars and some of the most active conversations on APViewpoint center around the issues raised in them.

“Advisor Perspectives is clearly positioned as the leading investment-related content site for advisors,” said Michael Kitces, author of the widely-read financial planning blog, Nerd’s Eye View. “APViewpoint provides a unique and valuable opportunity for advisors to have conversations that go even deeper.” APViewpoint’s thought leaders also find the site to be a valuable resource for discussing and debating their own research and investment theories and strategies.

“On APViewpoint I’ve had the privilege of reading and participating in some of the most exciting and thought-provoking investment discussions I’ve seen in many years.” said Harold Evensky, Chairman, Evensky & Katz/Foldes Financial. Since its launch, Advisor Perspectives has also used charitable donation incentives to encourage members to sign up and participate, giving more than $15,000 to AmeriCares, the Foundation for Financial Planning, the Jimmy Fund, the USO, the American Red Cross and the Pediatric Cancer Research Center.

Continuing this tradition, for each advisor who joins APViewpoint through May 31, 2016 Advisor Perspectives will donate $10 to nonprofit organizations that are providing medical and humanitarian aid to victims of the earthquake in Nepal.

Huebscher plans to boost membership and participation by hosting more webinars and growing APViewpoint’s roster of thought leaders. One of his key goals is to make APViewpoint the destination resource for advisors who wish to share their analysis of mutual funds and ETFs or get feedback on funds from their peers.
